Sparshotts Fruiterers was established in April 1935 in Hatfield by Mr C Sparshott. In 1948 the business moved to St Albans
when the company became Limited. A period of expansion followed with the acquisition of several shops and the build up of an
extensive delivery service.
Today the business supplies quality fruit and vegetables to independent retailers, large supermarkets and catering
establishments.
The Company, for the large part, acquires fresh fruit and vegetables direct from Covent Garden on a daily basis. There are also
daily deliveries from growers, produce merchants and importers, ensuring a constant supply of the very best fresh produce
available at all times.
We provide a daily nationwide delivery service of computer graded jacket potatoes into markets and secondary wholesale
establishments. These come directly from our factory in Lincolnshire base in Spalding. As a licensed potato merchant we
source the best producers in Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire Fens.
As an established business of over 64 years the Company has a wealth of expertise and is confident that it is in a very
strong position to supply and advise you in all aspects of your requirements, not only for the fruit and vegetables but also
for all types of exotics.
